Nostalgia

Yes folks, my sister is now a college student! And guess what? Her first day starts today! 

My sister Bea is a freshman taking up Psychology in University of Santo Tomas (UST). She’s supposed to live with us in Katipunan but given the fact that she doesn’t know how to commute plus the fact that her classes ends pretty late, my parents decided to just let her stay with her friend in a condominium in Dapitan. That way, it would be more convenient and safe for her.

Yesterday, she started packing her things and just a few hours ago, she left the house and moved in to her condo. Her leaving made me feel pretty sad and nostalgic. Time really passes by so fast. I suddenly remembered our childhood days: playing ice, ice water with our neighbors, playing with our barbie dolls and polly pockets, setting up mini fairs at home, trying to cook, daydreaming about our matinee idol crushes, sharing secret diaries and many more.

Now, you may say that I am being so dramatic and that I am overreacting. Yes, I know that we will still see each other every weekend and during summer breaks, to be honest, that’s not really my concern since that’s kind of, the way it has been for the past 2 years that I’ve been in college.

I guess what makes me feel sad and nostalgic is the realization that time really passes by so fast, sometimes without us even noticing it. We were just playing with our barbie dolls, doll houses and polly pockets and the next thing I know, we were both in college already. After a few years, we will be working in who-knows-where and a few years after that we will get married and have kids and live in different houses, this time.. for good.

I don’t know. Sometimes, I just wish the time would stop… even just for a little bit.

My cousin from Singapore went home last weekend and she surprised me with three bottles of Anna Sui nail polish!

Actually, her boyfriend was the one who bought these! I swear, her boyfriend is so galante! (He’s also the boyfriend who treated us to a great dinner in Singapore, just so you know.)

I don’t know whether my cousin knows that I have a nail polish obsession or her boyfriend is just cool enough to know the things that will make a girl giddy. 

Anyhoo, from the bottom of my heart, thank you so much for the wonderful pasalubong! And oh, look at my nails! They also wanna say thank you to both of you! 

So yes, I won a Lifehouse meet and greet pass!! But guess what? I just found out about it now. I wanna kill myself for being so stupid! How can I miss something like this? I wasted a chance of a lifetime!! Stupid, stupid me. 

Just because my summer vacation has officially started last Thursday

• I downloaded the latest episodes of my favorite TV series such as Gossip Girl, New Girl, Modern Family and Revenge!
• I decided to re-watch One Tree Hill.
• I decided to continue my online business.
• I tried looking for summer jobs online.
• I started cleaning my room in our house in Laguna.
• I moved out of the dorm and transferred my things to our condo.
• I started working out.
• I continued reading Lauren Oliver’s Pandemonium 
• I can go back to my sleep-all-you-can mantra.
• I CAN FINALLY RELAX AND FORGET ABOUT SCHOOL FOR APPROXIMATELY TWO WEEKS.

Yes, I am now a happy kid.

The day I finally accomplished the number one item on my bucket list.

As you all probably know, I have a huge crush, oh no scratch that, I am obsessed with Ian Somerhalder. Not just because he is hot, sexy and handsome, but also because he is so nice, genuine and humble! To see Ian Somerhalder is my ultimate dream in life (yes, I am shallow like that) so I put it in my bucket list! It’s in the top spot, just so you know.

So when the opportunity presented itself, we grabbed on to it immediately. Alyssa, Tepi, Daph, Ariane and I decided to go straight to Mall of Asia after our Economics final exam. We arrived there at about 12:30 in the afternoon and waited for about 2 and a half hours.

Good thing we actually arrived 2 hours before the event because there were more than 6,000 people in the Atrium!! Even before Ian came out, the people went crazy already and they started pushing each other. So of course, given the fact that we were in the front part, we needed to push other people too or else we would get squeezed and get hurt. It was such a cuhraaazy experience! 2 hours of torture, to be accurate.

Finally, after hours of torture, Ian finally came out! I adore him even more for arriving on time! 

I had to slap myself to remind myself that it was for real, that Ian Somerhalder, my ultimate celebrity crush was just a few meters away from me. Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think I would really see him in person! That day was so surreal. I cannot even believe that it’s really happening!

Yeah, that’s how close we were. Look at that gorgeous face and those arms, he is the epitome of perfection. The public appearance lasted for about 20 minutes only but I don’t care, that’s more than enough! SOBRANG WORTH IT NG LAHAT NG TORTURE!! Intense stampede, 2-hr torture of waiting and standing up, all the elbows and punches from war freak girls, you name it!  I am very much willing to experience all of those things yet again if that would lead me to Ian! Best twenty minutes of my life!

Before leaving the Philippines, Ian Somerhalder posted this picture on his Twitter. “Look at me and 6,000 of my new friends in the Philippines.” Awww, this guy is such a sweetheart! I love him even more!! 

After the event, we decided to have a mini photoshoot! Hihihi crazy, crazy day indeed!!

I love you Ian Somerhalder! Not just because of your perfect face, dazzling blue eyes and yummy muscles but also because you have a really big heart and a very intelligent mind! I will never forget this day! Thank you for making my dreams come true! :)

What the hell is wrong with these people?

First of all, Manny Pacquiao. For me, you are the best boxer of all time and I really admire you for that. But after what you said about same sex marriage and how you disapproved President Obama’s support on same sex marriage, I can’t help but ask myself if you’re really worth admiring. 

Here’s the thing, you are emphasizing the importance of every single word of the Bible, right? Well, let me ask you something. Why don’t you fix your own marriage first before worrying about other people’s marriages? You can’t even manage to keep your own marriage stable and less problematic, so why meddle with other people’s marriages? For me, a successful same sex marriage is way better than a disastrous heterosexual marriage. Do not even get me started with your argument about the importance of every word of the Bible. If you really obey every single word the Bible teaches you, then why are you endorsing alcohol? As far as I know, the Bible identifies abstinence from alcohol as a form of devotion (http://erlc.com/article/the-bible-speaks-on-alcohol/). Before saying anything, make sure that your words won’t make you look like a hypocrite. And apparently, based on your inconsistent statements, I think you don’t even know where you stand.

Second, Miriam Quiambao. Who do you think you are to say those harsh words to the gays and lesbians? You’re going to bombard them with very harsh and cruel words and then what? After receiving negative feedbacks, you will apologize and treat the matter as if it was a joke? As if what you said didn’t hurt anybody’s feelings? Wow, just wow. What right do you think you have? You think you have the right to bash the homosexuals because you’re popular, beautiful and once a beauty queen? You didn’t even win, just in case you forgot. And don’t you dare use the name of the Lord to strengthen your invalid arguments! Who are you to label them as sinners? You are NOT God so stop acting like you are.

And just recently, these religious groups were protesting to stop Lady Gaga’s  concert here in the Philippines. What the actual fuck. All your arguments are stupid! Do you really think that when people watch Lady Gaga’s concert, they will be influenced to convert and become Anti-Christs? Wow, that just goes to show how weak your faith is. And to the politicians who are meddling with this issue, why don’t you focus and devote all your efforts to the other issues of our country which are more serious than this one? This isn’t even an issue, in the first place. For the nth time, you are overreacting over nothing again and you are using the Church’s name. Hindi na kayo nahiya. You don’t have the right to call yourselves members of religious groups! Please don’t. Just thinking about it makes me wanna puke.
